Ayla HOME: Breakthroughs in cloud services and Saas systems

In 2010, AT&T, the largest operator in the United States, launched the layout of the Internet of Things, and then the concept of the Internet of Things set off a boom around the world. Many operators have aroused the demand to build the PaaS cloud platform of the Internet of Things. Based on this market opportunity, Ella Iot, founded in 2010, has become a provider for several operators worldwide to build the private IoT PaaS cloud, including AT&T in the US, Sprint, and Orange in Europe. Since its establishment, Ella Wulian has played the role of service provider for operators for about four years.

In 2014, after Amazon and GOOGLE launched smart speakers such as Echo and GOOGLE Home, smart home products equipped with AI voice recognition technology became killer applications in the market, thus promoting the development of the Internet of Things industry, including smart Home. The landing of voice AI technology has germinated the demand for a public cloud on smart home appliances of all sizes.

After smart speakers and other products are gradually applied, the business focus of Ella is no longer limited to providing public cloud PaaS services for operators, but to realize the connection between AI voice and PaaS cloud object control, and provide PaaS, SaaS, small program development for customers, APP and other services, referred to as “white-box solution.” The customer controls the hardware side. However, the solution requires both parties to open source to each other and take more than ten months to develop a product that combines hardware and software with cloud services.

After 2017, in order to improve the efficiency of research and development, Ella Iot developed a new set of “public cloud + module +SaaS” standardized universal solutions, namely the “black box solution.” The principle of this scheme is to fix the cloud service in the chip module by Agent mode. After obtaining the cloud module of Ella IoT, customers do not need to know the algorithm and rules; they only need to understand the function configuration and properties of each PIN Angle in the module so as to configure their motherboard.

Therefore, this becomes a zero-code low code development solution. The biggest advantage of this scheme is that it greatly shortens the development cycle, from 10 months to 2 or 3 months, and improves the development efficiency. So far, with smart Home as the main incision, IRA Julian has identified two primary business directions. First of all, for big bend customers, IRA IoT provides PaaS cloud + module services; Secondly, for C-end users, the company provides SaaS+ whole machine products. To build the “last mile” of smart Home, the company launches its smart brand, “Ayla Home,” which covers smart Home, smart hotel, smart real estate, smart community, and so on.

In the first case, the essence of the PaaS+ cloud model is to empower customers. It provides standardized AIoT solutions, mobile cellular communication solutions, and customized services. At present, the company has cooperated with large household appliance manufacturers, automobile enterprises, intelligent POS machine manufacturers, etc. The one-stop developer platform built by the PaaS+ cloud module can help intelligent terminal manufacturers to achieve rapid product access, complete SaaS development/super APP development in one day, public cloud deployment in three days, and product landing in two months. Terminal manufacturers can develop and innovate by themselves according to their own needs.

It is worth mentioning that the company will include the products of cooperative manufacturers into the Ella Iot 15+N product ecological platform. The platform comprises 15 intelligent devices with sensors as the core developed by ELLA Iot and 200-300 intelligent single products selected by Ella’s preferred quality control system. Among them, 15 core devices include gateway, door sensor, water sensor, human body sensor, scene switch, temperature and humidity sensor, smoke sensor, air sensor, sound and light alarm, infrared converter, door lock, etc. The 200-300 preferred ecological products are divided into two categories: the first category is the whole-house intelligent products personalized developed by the company’s one-stop developer platform; The second category is the outstanding size of household appliances on the market pan-intelligent terminal brand.

Secondly, Ayla Home, the smart house built by Ella IoT, mainly provides active, intelligent services for users. Based on the whole package of delivery solutions, Ayla Home is upgraded to an active AI intelligent space management service and recommends the most suitable intelligent solution for the whole house according to different apartment types. According to our understanding, some of the smart products included in Ayla Home come from the smart Home appliance manufacturers that cooperate with Ayla IoT. Still, the whole AIoT system and software services are in charge of Ayla IoT, while the design, service, installation, and construction steps are completed by Ayla Home. Therefore, Ayla Home will become a comprehensive service platform to solve the “last mile construction” of smart homes and build the channel pattern of “manufacturer integration.”

Smart Hotel SaaS

In terms of profit model, Ella It provides three different charging modes: hardware module, SaaS, and PaaS. First, hardware modules as part of the revenue; Secondly, SaaS mainly adopts subscription, which is charged by the number of years and months. PaaS charges an amount of the license fee from customers after delivery.

In terms of core advantages, the essential parts of the Internet of Things that are most difficult to break through are cloud services and SaaS systems, not hardware. In the early days of its establishment, Ella Iot spent a lot of time focusing on the development of cloud platforms. Moreover, its layout in the Internet of Things field was ahead of other peers, so it laid a good foundation for its development.

In terms of the team, IRA Wuren currently has nearly 400 employees, among which r&d personnel account for up to 80%.
